CORNS

What are corns?

Corns are small patch of thickened skin with or without pain commonly seen in areas exposed to repeated friction and/or pressure, like hands and feet. These are also known as callosities or clavus. Corns are collection of dead skin cells which have a very hard centre. Corns often occur on bony prominence of hands and feet such as tops or sides of toe as there's a lack of natural cushion.

There are high chances of reoccurrence.

Soft corn (Heloma Molle) – It is a lump of inflamed skin with smooth whitish center. It generally observed between the toes.

Seed corn – It is less common variety of corn, usually painful, found on weight bearing parts of soles.
