What are
corona viruses?
Corona
viruses are a group of viruses, discovered for the first time in 1960s. The
present strain is called Novel corona virus or the Wuhan corona virus.
These
viruses infect respiratory system, leading to symptoms like cold, cough,
breathlessness and fever. Sometimes these viruses can mutate and can cause
severe symptoms like pneumonia and further complications..
How do humans
get infected with corona virus?
1) Handling of meat of birds
especially the fruit bat
2) Through contaminated surfaces
used for cutting meat of infected birds.
3) Human to human spread through
direct contact and through droplets while sneezing, coughing and contaminated
surfaces (Door handles, railings at public places etc).

the problem?

of today (30th January 2020), the infected individuals have crossed
more than 5000 with 140+ deaths reported in China.

corona virus?

3) Mild breathlessness.
4) Body pain.
5) Pneumonia in severe cases followed
by rapid deterioration leading to multiple organ failure and death.

Real-time reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction
(rRT-PCR) assays are molecular tests that can be used to detect viral RNA in
clinical samples.
